Toward a non‐organizational theory of human resource management? A complex adaptive systems perspective on the human resource management ecosystem in (con)temporary organizing

The emergence of the temporary organization has ushered in a new logic organizing accompanied by paradigm-shifting challenges with respect to how evolving nature work, workers, and collective effort are be understood. To capture complexity inherent this order, broaden our focus from enfolding ecosystem within which must situated understood, we engage problematization develop multi-level framework for theorizing contemporary human resource management ecosystem. Curating insights science, conceptualize as complex adaptive one propose that integrates key structural (open boundaries relational constitution), emergent (contextual causality), temporal (dynamic adaptive) properties. deepen lines inquiry around these defining elements, advance series propositions testing, outline range theoretical, methodological, practical implications arise work.
